The Irie Mind - Hit me with Music

Jennifer Zielinski: Sarasota, FL, United States; Growing up there has been one thing that permanently follows me, influences me, and powers my heart and soul to this very second in time. It is music. It has always been there through the good and bad, and it has relentlessly transformed my life. In fact, I formed a wonderful relationship with the melody of a note when I started playing my first instrument at age 7. After going through high school in accelerated classes I moved to Southern FL, having no aspiration for a future in college. In my gut I knew the “common” professions weren’t meant for me. A few years later I heard my first Slightly Stoopid album, started going to shows, and watched this amazing scene of happiness and positivity blossoming through sounds full of Reggae/Rock/Ska/and Hip-Hop fusions. I’ve been committed ever since. It was at that certain point in time, while I was attending a summer show in 2011, and I was leaving again with a frustrated pout on my face, that I knew I had to do something. I wouldn’t be satisfied until I could see live music again, and my urge to be a part of it was consuming me. Hit me with music.
